Cost For Master of Arts - $2,295.00

The PhD tract is available. You must have a Master's degree.
You will select eight of the courses from this program, ten verbatims plus write a dissertation. The dissertation must be at least sixty pages with a minimum of twenty references in the bibliography. Sixty pages is the minimum. Most dissertations average eighty to one hundred twenty pages.

The Master's program requires selecting eight of the courses on this page plus ten verbatims. Ten are listed. You only need eight of the courses or forty hours of study. Each course is five hours.

You may use up to four No Travel Seminars. No Travel Seminars are optional and not required. They also cost additional.You may use them to accelerate the study process. You may also complete the entire program by utilizing the texts listed below which are part of the course study. 

The No Travel Seminars that may be used for this program are: Pastoral Counseling, Marriage Counseling 101, Grief Counseling, and Ministerial Ethics. 

You may not submit alternate texts or electives for this program. 

Expectations: Under each course is a text. Order the text. Read the text. Write a ten to twenty page paper of the text that accompanies the course title. Read a chapter and briefly summarize what the author said. You may briefly add what you learned from the chapter.  Write the paper in your own words. Do not plagiarize. You may wish to summarize briefly each chapter or summarize the text in entirety. Usually you will find summarizing the book chapter by chapter is easier. 

If you utilize No Travel Seminars please write four to six pages per seminar of review summary. Watch the seminar. Summarize what the professor says. You may add in your own words what you learned from the seminar. No Travel Seminars are sent to you via email. You simply click on the link that is emailed to you and watch the seminar.

You must have a Bachelor's degree to enter this program. If you do not have a Bachelor's degree we suggest our Bachelor's in Christian Counseling or you may select from any of our other Bachelor degree programs.

Both the Master's and PhD degree programs require the submission of ten verbatims.  A verbatim is two to three pages. A verbatim presents a thumb nail presentation of a one on one conversation where pastoral care or life coaching takes place.  You should briefly introduce the setting. Then briefly write out what the session or conversation was about.  To the best of your memory, you should state what he/she said and what you said. You should then write a brief conclusion stating your thoughts about the session. You can state if you feel it was productive, helpful, a waste of time

If you complete a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling, Specialization in Life Coaching, you are eligible to apply for admittance to any Newburgh doctoral degree program except the Doctor of Philosophy, Specialization in Life Coaching degree program.
