Master of Arts in Biblical Studies

Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for the student to pursue courses that will broaden Biblical understanding and perspective at the Master's Level.

Degree Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from an approved school. (Seven five-hour courses constitute the thirty five hours).  All course work may be emailed to schoolassignment@aol.com or mailed to the school address at:

Assignments mailed to the school should always be accompanied with a self addressed stamped envelope so that the work may be returned.

Curriculum:
Seven of the following books may be chosen. Your books may be ordered all at one time, however, Students are encouraged to take one course at a time. Each book constitutes five hours of credit or one course. The student may suggest two alternate textbooks to be approved by a faculty advisor.

  • BS 600 Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview, by Gary W. Phillips
  • BS 610 30 Days to Understanding the Bible in 15 Minutes a Day, by Max Anders
  • BS 620 Encountering the New Testament: A Historical and Theological Survey, by Walter A. Elwell
  • BS 630 Grasping God's Word, by J. Scott Duvall
  • BS 640 Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths, by Bruce Feiler
  • BS 650 Introduction to Biblical Interpretation, by William W. Klein
  • BS 670 The Jesus I Never Knew, by Phillip Yancey
  • BS 680 The Tabernacle, by David Levy
  • BS 690 Who Wrote the Bible?, by Richard E. Friedman

All papers should be typed, double-spaced and checked for spelling and grammar.  For each book complete the following:

  • Read the book.
  • Summarize the book in ten to fifteen pages. Provide enough information to demonstrate that you have read the material. A good rule is to provide at least a one page summary per book chapter.
  • Send the completed paper to schoolassignment@aol.com or if mailing send to NTS, P.O. Box 1238, Newburgh, IN 47629. Please include a SASE for return of your assignment.
